A medication review is a structured appointment with one of our pharmacists to discuss your medicines. It's an opportunity to talk about how your medicines are working for you, any side effects you may be experiencing, and any questions or concerns you may have.
Regular medication reviews are important to ensure your medicines are working effectively for you and to identify any potential issues or improvements.
We'll go through all the medicines you're taking, including prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, and any supplements.
We'll make sure you understand what each medicine is for, how to take it correctly, and any special instructions.
You'll have the opportunity to discuss any concerns or side effects you may be experiencing.
We may make recommendations to improve your medication regimen, which could include changes to how you take your medicines or suggestions for your doctor to consider.
If you've been prescribed a new medicine for certain conditions, you may be eligible for the NHS New Medicine Service. This provides additional support to help you get the most from your new medicine.
A medication review typically takes 15-20 minutes, depending on the number of medicines you're taking and the complexity of your regimen. We'll ensure you have enough time to discuss all your concerns.
