The Pharmacy First service is an NHS-funded initiative that allows you to get treatment for common health conditions directly from a pharmacy, without needing to see a GP first. Our qualified pharmacists can provide consultations, advice, and prescribe medications if necessary.
This service is available to patients registered with a GP in Gloucester and surrounding areas. You must be present for the consultation, although parents/guardians can attend on behalf of children. The service is free for those who don't pay for prescriptions.
Our pharmacists can provide consultations and treatments for a range of common conditions under the Pharmacy First service, including:
No appointment necessary. Just come to our pharmacy during opening hours.
Our pharmacist will discuss your symptoms in a private consultation room.
If appropriate, the pharmacist can provide medication and advice for your condition.
If your condition requires further treatment, we'll refer you to your GP or another healthcare professional.
The Pharmacy First service is available during our regular pharmacy opening hours. No appointment is necessary, but consultations are subject to pharmacist availability.
