FAQ

Vaccination & Wellness FAQs

QDo I need a GP referral to book an appointment?
A

No referral is needed. Simply book online or call us directly. We offer same-week appointments and our pharmacists will carry out a full clinical assessment at your first visit.

QIs there a consultation fee?
A

A £20 consultation fee applies to first-visit patients and covers a full clinical assessment. Follow-up appointments for the same treatment course do not attract an additional fee.

QWhat age is the Shingles vaccine recommended for?
A

Shingrix is recommended for adults aged 50 and over. It is given as a two-dose course and provides strong, long-lasting protection against shingles and its complications.

QCan children receive the Chickenpox vaccine?
A

Yes. The Chickenpox vaccine is suitable for children from 12 months of age and adults who have not previously had the infection. It is given as a two-dose course.

QHow does the Hay Fever injection work?
A

The hay fever injection (Kenalog) contains a corticosteroid that reduces the immune response to pollen for the duration of the hay fever season. A prescription is required and it is only available for adults. Our pharmacist will assess your suitability at consultation.

QIs the Whooping Cough booster suitable for pregnant women?
A

The whooping cough booster (dTaP/IPV) is routinely recommended during pregnancy through the NHS. Our private service is available for those who have missed their dose or require a booster outside the NHS schedule — please inform our pharmacist if you are pregnant.
